I may be tired, I may be sleepy.
But I will never be able to fall asleep,
until I message my sweetie. Good night
Apparently I am asleep but in reality
all I am doing is thinking about you.
Good night my darling.
It's suppose to be like every other day, nothing is supposed to make it distinct from every other date, but centuries after the superstition surfaced, the fear of Friday the 13th has not in anyway reduced neither has the date been forgotten. The fear of the date has gone just beyond the date but has spread to the number 13, the fear of the number 13 is so strong and the influence of the superstition such that in some places the number 13 is always committed when numbering seats in a hall or offices in a corporate environment, even buttons in elevators usually have number 13 omitted from its selection in some countries, no one wants to check into room 13 of a hotel. the phobia for the number 13 and Friday the 13 that the superstition has caused is such that certain words have been set aside to indicate the phobia, Triskaidekaphobia means fear of number 13 while Paraskevidekatriaphobia is the fear of Friday the 13th, the two words are both quite mouthfuls.
In numerology 12 is believed to indicate completeness, order and perfection, as reflected in the 12 moths of the calendar, the 12 disciples of Jesus, the 12 tribes of Israel, the 12 signs of the zodiac, the 12 hours of the clock, 12 gods of Olympus and many more, going by these therefore 13 is seen as an irregular transgressing of this completeness and order, records of the superstition were not common place before 20th century, when it became extremely common, the connection between Friday the 13th and the knights Templar was made popular by Dan Brown 2003 novel The Da Vinci code, on Friday 13 October 1307 hundreds of Knights Templar were arrested in France, i will talk more in subsequent write ups about the Knights Templar, there are arguments that the origin of the superstition lies in christian tradition that Christ was crucified on a Friday thus making the day an unlucky day, another one says Judas Iscariot who betrayed Jesus was the thirteenth person in the close circle of Jesus and many more of such sources of where the superstition originated from
perhaps you know nothing of Friday the 13th superstitions well now you know and if happen to have a phobia for the date, then you really don't have anything to worry about or you don't have much to worry about as 2013 happens to have just two occurrences of the date and the two occurrences do not come up until well into the year, the first one comes up in September while the second comes up in December unlike 2012 that had three occurrences of the date and the first one came up as early January.
to conclude my thoughts here, i sincerely wonder the kind of outlook people who have phobia for the number 13 will have on the year 2013 as a whole aside from its Friday the 13th occurrences, perhaps if doomsayers had chosen 2013 as the year the world comes to na end it even have had more profound effect than it did, truth is whether you got the phobia or you don't your life is a product of what you think, so think right.
