As I rise up from my bed
I thank the lord for sending me
Such a very special friend

Someone who can share the day
And chat on all we find
Of god’s abundant goodness
His treasures so divine

For on this passing earth

To hold so very near
So God in his great kindness

A companion and a confidante
Who will never go away
But remains especially close
